Thai authorities have apprehended Liang Ai-Bing, a Chinese national accused of orchestrating a $31 million cryptocurrency Ponzi scheme through the FINTOCH platform. The arrest, made in Bangkok on October 29, 2025, marks a significant breakthrough in international crypto fraud investigations. Liang and his accomplices allegedly lured investors across Asia with promises of 1% daily returns, falsely claiming ties to Morgan Stanley.

The scheme collapsed in May 2023 after on-chain investigator ZachXBT exposed the operation. By then, the perpetrators had reportedly withdrawn 31.6 million USDT from the platform. The case underscores the persistent risks of fraudulent projects in the cryptocurrency space, despite growing institutional adoption and regulatory scrutiny.
